Regular eye test are essential for keeping your eyes healthy. They not only help determine whether you need glasses or an updated prescription, but also help detect some common eye conditions.
An eye test consists of a set of evaluations to examine your eyesight and evaluate the overall health of your eyes. It’s not just about testing your vision; it’s a comprehensive check of eye health, both internally and externally.
Your eyes can be affected by a range of conditions, many of which can be detected early during a routine eye test – helping to reduce the risk of vision problems later on. Additionally, your eyes can reveal signs of other health issues, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
During an eye test, the optometrist may take a photograph of the back of your eyes using a fundus camera. This image will be saved to monitor any changes in eye health on future visits.
